CYANOACRYLATE ADHESIVES

Cyanoacrylates are a series of strong fast-acting adhesives within the industrial, medical and household markets. This series of adhesives is incredibly versatile as they bond to a number of substrates, including plastics and rubbers. They are one-component, lower viscosity liquids that cure extremely quickly with just contact pressure and surface moisture. They tend to have low flexibility, peel strength and impact resistance compared to other structural adhesives. With the use of primers, they can also adhere to low surface energy plastics and elastomers.

3M Scotch-Weld Super Fast Instant Adhesive SF100 is our go-to cyanoacrylate adhesive. Its packaging allows for precise application: a pinch container for a precise drop or squeeze for a steady bead. Once applied, SF100 typically reaches handling strength in under 5 seconds, with a full cure achieved in 24 hours. This keeps jobs moving quickly and may help improve workplace productivity. While this adhesive technically falls within the liquid adhesive category, we feel that it deserves its own place and acknowledgment for its versatility and bond strength.
